Level
1 an introductory level course for those with no
previous experience who wish to gain taster of boat handling.
Level 2 This 2 day course
is an introductory level course aimed at giving people the
knowledge to take charge of powered craft with confidence in
normal sheltered coastal locations. Course covers basic seamanship
skills such as boat handling, weather meteorology, pilotage,
anchoring, basic boat checks and appropriate equipment. This
course is very much a practical based course. All courses follow
the RYA syllabus and are appropriate for those wishing to obtain
RYA certificate of competence. No prior knowledge is assumed
or required.
RYA Safety Boat Course
For those using power boats in a safety boat situation including dinghy sail
training, rescue fleets on dinghy races, kayak, canoe, windsurf rescues.
This is a 2 day course.
Prerequisites Must hold an RYA level 2 certificate.
All the above courses:-
£ 175 per person Non residential
£ 200 per person Residential (self catering)
All our Power Boat courses are under the supervision
of a Royal Yachting Association advanced powerboat instructor
and all instructors are a minimum of RYA instructors with coastal
endorsements.
Courses are run on the following dates:-
Saturday 14th March, Sunday 15th March 2009
Saturday 4th April , Sunday 5th April 2009
Other dates available subject to demand. We
need a minimum of 2 persons to make a course viable and can
run courses for up to 6 persons at any one time.
Driving boats in coastal locations can be a
physically demanding activity. Participants should ensure they
are physically fit prior to attending the course. If you are
unsure please phone us to discuss the matter further with one
of our instructors.
